Queers & Beers Event is a Home Run
What happens when you mix craft brews, a World Series watch party, and a lively crowd of LGBTQIA+ folks and allies? You get a night to remember—full of camaraderie, laughter, and some truly epic high-fives! On October 29, 2024, the Hermosa Beach Pride Organization took over the Hermosa Brewing Company for our “Queers & Beers” event, and let’s just say it was an absolute blast. With the Dodgers playing Game 4 (and winning—cue the fireworks!) in the background, we ended up with a perfect pairing of America’s pastime and a celebration of diversity. Did we mention the place was packed? Because it definitely was, with 40 to 50 attendees filling the entire restaurant, cheering just as loud for each other as for the boys in blue.
We couldn’t have asked for a better vibe. Families brought their kids, couples made new friends over half-priced appetizers, and the night had that magical Hermosa Beach energy. Picture it: rainbow flags swirling in the sea breeze, the smell of fresh beer on tap, and the buzz of conversation as different generations came together to raise a glass. One minute, you’re bonding over your favorite RuPaul’s Drag Race queen, and the next you’re high-fiving a stranger who just happens to be rocking a vintage Dodgers jersey. If that doesn’t say “Tuesday night in SoCal,” we don’t know what does.
Best of all, our community support was on full display. From 6-9pm, 15% of sales went straight to the Hermosa Beach Pride organization, helping us raise $250 toward future events, including next June’s Pride celebrations. And yes, we’re already dreaming up big plans to make that party the most colorful yet! The combination of tasty brews and philanthropic spirit was enough to keep everyone smiling—plus the Dodgers’ victory was the icing on the cake.
